These New Puritans should probably be in the thread of shame, but I absolutely fell in love with "Swords of Truth" when I heard it on the radio. Fantastic post-punk, PiL type grooves going on.

The new These New Puritans album Hidden is very good. Completely unexpected as I thought they were just another NME band.

Kevin Drumm

Imperial Horizon and Imperial Distortion.

A few guys on here have mentioned him, Redhog and Chickenfish I think--finally gave it a go.

Glad I did.

Imperial Distortion is one of the best discs I've picked up in a while.

Having seen Meshuggah live last year I really don't find the idea of a live DVD from them that appealing, how is it?

Currently I am listening to Cult of Luna's "Eternal Kingdom", it's so good!

'Tis a winner, yes.
You're ahead of me on the Imperial Horizon though. wavey davey I'll have to pick that up.

Yeah, I think Hidden is fantastic too. I've been addicted to Attack Music and We Want War for the past few days. I'm glad they have lived up to their potential.

It feels like more of an extension of some of directions of Imperial Distortion than a stand alone follow-up. This is not a bad thing at all, I'd be very happy is he many more releases like it up his sleeve--but it's not the beast ID is.

Unbelieveably boring, seriously. I was quite stunned at how crap they were.

Poor vocal delivery.
Songs cut in half.
Failure to do anything exciting with the gitar solos.
Plooding set.
The ability to robotically reproduce the recorded material in a live setting is impressive but does not make a good show. Unless the robot in question is a T-101 and there are 5 of them on stage. The night I saw them, they were Johnny 5.
