Since the demise of the band we notice a steady trickle of interest in GODFLESH back catalog, we assume by newly fledged fans who are possibly getting into Justin's current band Jesu, and then working backwards investigating Justin Broadricks formidable body of work created during the 90's as GODFLESH.

(and then we thought we would make a quick buck out of it, by releasing some boring value pack shit, with cheap artwork, and nothing new. We emailed Justin to see if he would want to waste a few hours talking to our Betamax camcorder in a noisy pub somewhere, in exchange of a couple of beers and some peanuts, but surprisingly, he hasn't responded to us yet. Where is the love, Justin, where is the love?)

Curious to find out more about Digby Pearson I googled him and there was this BBC article which at the end just made my day.

'They've also entered the computer game market. Earache Extreme Metal Racing has been released on Play Station 2.'

lol

yeah, release a DVD set because Brian "Studio Drummer that doesn't give a fuck about the next band he plays in" is on the "Chinese Democracy" release.

what a completely unrelated crock of shit.

Thanks, Dig. Thanks for undermining the questions and the support of this fan base. Thanks for indirectly insulting our speculation of the completely unknown and previously unstated.

A real blog/internet publication would've pointed out the support and excitement of said forum (with the ever obvious exception to said speculation of features), but of course, we can never expect even that much from earache.

fuck that guy. i'm boycotting that release just out of principal.

I think I am being redundant here, but you guys seem to eager to buy into your beloved artist's pains and just "hating Dig" apparently more because it is cool to do so than for any real personal reason (other than the mentioned "he was bad towards the artist I love").

Nick has posted his story, and apparently he was not personally fucked up by Dig (as I understood it, maybe I got it wrong). I have met Dig live and he was very, very generous and cool with me. I am not saying that he was the best person ever to these artists or even that I know much about each individual case, but some of you jump at the chance to curse and yell at the guy, apparently, out of nothing.

You dont really need to give Dig abuse. All you need to do is point out that his label had so much to offer at one time. Now its like fuckin Napalm records or something.

i.e. of no interest to anyone genuinely into music..unless they just like crap versions of the good stuff.

sniggering

This is just a statement of fact , nothing else.

Tetra, I respect the fact that you have met the guy and he was nice to you, I also understand that you have a wide and varied interest in the bands that Earache brought into the "extreme metal community public consciousness". However:

Bolt Thrower
Carcass
Godflesh
Entombed
Pitch Shifter
Misery Loves Company

There's 6 bands straight off the top of my head who have publicly called Digby out and left his record company as soon as they could.

I am not even going to go into the whole Iron Monkey story.

He's a parasite.

What does meeting someone have to do with it.
Dont forget Elrrek met Michael Gira.

And yes he was a twonk. Just like Dig.

I did?

Strewth, he made such an impression upon me I have in fact forgotten the entire episode.

I was at the same Supersonic as him, perhaps this is what you mean, and my word he was boring. And a twonk.

you can add clutch to that list as well as the dillinger escape plan ( they saw nothing of the money for the record that earache licensed)
