Got my gig ticket for Melbourne! Super excited. They really left this a long time to announce for whatever reason, so much so that I thought it wasn't going to happen. The holiday season, really wiped me out financially, need to figure out a way to get from Hobart to Melbourne now! sniggering

Only a 50 min set which was the only downside...way too short...whereas Ministry seemed to go on forever! sniggering
No new songs and no merch at all. But incredibly brutal and intense and while I'm not a big fan of 'Pure' as an album, songs from it really come alive in a live setting.
Kinda hard to believe it's been 25 years since I bought 'Streetcleaner' and just now got to see the creators of that masterpiece.

Like Rats
Christbait Rising
Streetcleaner
Spite
Mothra
Pure
Crush My Soul

Here's what I shot in Melbourne. It's all I got, didn't have much room on the phone...and quite frankly I was more concerned with soaking in the set.

I think Justin said it was a conscious decision: as most Aussie fans had never had the chance to see them, they decided to do the 'greatest hits' set.

When I saw them in Leeds last year they did start with "New Dark Ages" & "Ringer" before the oldies. There probably wasn't enough time if they only had a 50min slot.

First time, only waited 25 years. I really only started doing international travel in 1999 (never to see a band though), they promptly split up soon after that! sniggering

That sounds about right. Could of done with another 15 or 20 minutes or so. Ministry, while not terrible, got a full length set and it really seemed to drag...so incredibly samey.

The Sydney show was great! It was exactly the same set as Melbourne and I couldn't fault the sound... the only downside was the short set, but otherwise I'm glad I made the trip.

No merch, and Justin was his usual chatty self, only mumbling once they'd finished something along the lines, we're Godflesh thanks for coming roll

robosapien - did you enjoy it? There was quite a few of us Canberran's in the crowd.

I've never seen so many Godflesh shirts in one place before!

And the set list just proves that JKB prefers Pure to Selfless Wink

The Sydney gig was excellent. The sound was great, the bass was nice and loud as it should be. No technical issues apart from Ben Green's bass strap breaking mid song. The visuals were good even with ministry's drum kit in the way.

Really pleased they played streetcleaner as it was the first Godflesh song I heard from the grindcrusher comp in 1990.

Boyd - Yeah, good to see a few Canberran's made the trip. Saw a few people I hadn't seen for 10 years or so.

Fuck it, wrote a big long spiel and then lost internet connection after hitting post. Fucking bastard internet. Long story short, saw the Flesh in the Metro and at Soundwave. Was good. Saw lots of other stuff, shit happened, but fate has decided I will not get to regale you with those tales.

Came across this clip from the Sydney show. Audio is a bit pants coz the bass is too too much for cheap camera microphones... good optics tho.
