I read this about Grey Machine in an interview conducted a few months after Conqueror was released:

He’s working with Dave Cochrane (the “David” in Head of David), on this largely improvisatory recording project, which, he warns, will not be as melodic or delicate as recent Jesu records. “It’s not like Godflesh but it’s still very confrontational and psychedelic and full of noise, but it’s not metal,” he says. A floating line-up of collaborators—Aaron Turner of Isis, Diarmuid Dalton, and others—will contribute. Initially, it will be a studio-only endeavor, with cuts released on the web, and fairly prolifically. The appeal of a sprawling psychedelic improv outline, says Broadrick, is largely one of release. “It gives me a chance to relinquish the very strict composition angle that I’ve been bludgeoning with Jesu over the last few years,” he says. “I’m so stuck within these songs that it’s nice for me to just do something else.”

I wonder if the web release plan still stands?

Thread title was a total cock tease, my palm was getting all sweaty and slippy as I struggled to move my mouse over to click on it.

But sounds nice from what Golem posted up, not heard anything "harder" from Justin for a little while, I find that to be interesting and quite exciting...

Phew, well that clears it up, I had this feeling it was going to be instrumental heavy stuff.

feel free to interpret it as you wish,

however

my intent was that Krowe (with the doobie) was playing with TIM's emotions (with the curlers) by posting a thread like this.

this version requires a viewing of Friday to fully appreciate.

didn't want to create a new topic. Tiny info from A. Turner from his blog

GREY MACHINE - not sure where justin and co are at with this, but i've nearly completed my tracking for this project - hopefully they're not just waiting on me! i have no idea what'll happen to it all once i pass it back to JKB for the mixing process, but i feel fairly certain the results will be monstrous. there is no definitive plan for this project as of yet (at least to my knowledge), but i suspect that it will see the light of day late this year or early next. there maybe further updates in the near future here: http://www.avalancheinc.co.uk/

I was talking about it with Dave Cochrane back in November, and he told me that Justin and him started working on some songs for a 2nd CD already. And that they were still mixing the 1st one.
I wonder where it's gonna be released tho. I always assumed it would be on Hydrahead, but now I have doubts.

Conspiracy maybe.

If you see Hydra's discography you don't see many records that Turner has been a part of, he always has stated as Hydra's focusing on bands he's not playing in.

Im pretty sure he put out some silly vinyl of it here and there with 15 different colors and free Isis branded Hi-C Juice boxes.

House of Low Culture maybe too..

no OMG on HH, and only one House of Low Culture. Hate to bother even defending Turner, but hey, his stuff (for the most part) actually comes out on OTHER labels than his own.

ISIS HI-C boxes? FUCK! Ebay here I come!

Isn't Tortuga a sub label of HH tho? I am pretty sure they're affiliated in some way.

Mark Thompson who runs HH owns Tortuga. Other than some art though I don't think Aaron has any input in Tortuga at all. Two very separate labels.
