Justin is also remixing a Cloaks track for a forthcoming limited release on 3by3.

And he's doing a JK Flesh album for my label too.

The demos are sounding fucking heavy.

That is some exciting news right there.
What kind of vein is the JK Flesh stuff in, or don't you want to spoil the surprise?

I can't really spoil anything as I don't really know enough.

However, I CAN tell you that it sits perfectly on the 3by3 roster.

I've been trying to push him away from doing anything 'dubstep', and want to ensure that he's free to make it as extreme as he wants. I'm really trying to push some noise/beats boundaries here.

The few bits I have heard (which may already be discounted) are fucking brutal.

The Pale Sketcher album is released early August. Unless that's the forthcoming jesu album yr inquiring about, if it is, then that will most likely be released early 2011 now, since I'm yet to finish writing / demoing. I'm hoping to record and mix it around Sept this year, it's for Caldo Verde BTW.

no jesu this year, damn

The CD reissue (Heart Ache) on Hydra Head is slated for Nov 2010, the bonus, unreleased EP, that will accompany this reissue (making this a 2xCD) has yet to be mixed. The vinyl of 'Heart Ache' is certainly out there in selected stores, etc, since I distributed a limited amount worlwide.

Quote:
"the continuum recyclings volume two: justin k. broadrick the release of continuum recyclings volume two continues an intriguing series of collaborations extending beyond traditional remix projects, this time putting sonic extremist justin k broadrick in the driving seat. motivated by their immense passion for a wide range of musical styles, continuum has turned into the multi-layered synonym for the collective ambition and vision of dirk serries (microphonics, vidnaObmana, fear falls burning) and steven wilson (porcupine tree, bass communion, blackfield). following in the footsteps of their 2004 debut, continuum two was released in 2007 as the second installment in a series of limited edition cd albums, presented in a beautiful oversized digipack with breathtaking design and artwork by lasse hoile. next to these duo efforts, meanwhile, a second line of releases has prominently established itself. using an unreleased track by wilson (construct iii - immersion mix) as his point of departure, dirk serries composed a galaxy of ghostly soundscapes in 2006, which would later be published as 2lp set continuum recyclings volume one. tonefloat now continues this series of reconstructions with continuum recyclings volume two (tf51), for which serries and wilson invited justin k. broadrick (jesu, final, godflesh) to add his own unique perspective on their material. this time, however, the task was even more daunting, as the project not just encompassed a single track, but was based on the sources of continuum's entire second full length album. while the original already expanded into dark and relentlessly extreme territories, broadrick has embarked on even more incisive explorations, drilling straight into the music's marrow and extracting nothing but its naked and undiluted essence. the result is a stunningly coherent new work in its own right spanning four monolithic tracks of epic proportions. as with continuum recyclings volume one, continuum recyclings volume two is a vinyl only release, and limited to 500 copies on coloured 180grams vinyl a stunning carl glover designed gatefold picture sleeve. the release date is set for june 8. the album can now be pre-ordered directly from our tonefloat shop."

Yup, it comes in handy. Got some update on the Final 83-87 Origins set.

JKB wrote:
I'm constantly changing how I wish to approach the release of the FINAL 'Origins 83-87' set. I'm now quite certain that it will be released over separate 2xCD volumes, and in total there will be around 4-5 of these 2xCD volumes, released over whatever period I can get them out over, time allowing.

I hope to release the first volume before the end of this year. There's an awful lot of old FINAL material from this period, all on battered old cassettes.

URSK series (from Utech Records)

Final's Dead Air was a part of it, now there's a box set coming. The box has an exclusive disc of remixes, one remix track from each artist in the series of the material they contributed. There's an option to buy the box set for 200USD, or buy just the box WITH the bonus disc and none of the albums for 130USD.

More accurate info here

Apparently the Killing Joke ep that was to feature a JKB remix has been completely changed and will now feature a different lead song and not include JKB's mix (and will come out in late June instead of late May). His mix has been demoted to a backing track for some video Youth came up with that will accompany iTunes downloads of the ep.

Suddenly the ep seems like a much less essential purchase......

Why can't Killing Joke just get this record sorted already?

Edited that. Apparently Produced in Norway Vol 2 has been released 9 days ago. Added tracklist for And the Earth Swarmed With Them's album and added release date for Extra Life's Splayed Flesh Remix EP .
